You have already heard that Jason Russell, the Invisible Children co-founder, was arrested for public rampage, meaning something more awful for the word “children”. His wife is defending him: “many of the attacks against Kony2012 (his viral video about the Lord’s Resistance Army), were also very personal, and Jason took them very hard.”

He had apparently a meltdown. Others said it was mind-control. And yet more others discovered that the organization’s expenses were a little bit too high to left money for the cause itself, to helping the kids and their families in Uganda. “In their campaigns, such organizations have manipulated facts for strategic purposes, exaggerating the scale of LRA abductions and murders and emphasizing the LRA‘s use of innocent children as soldiers, and portraying Kony — a brutal man, to be sure — as uniquely awful, a Kurtz-like embodiment of evil. They rarely refer to the Ugandan atrocities or those of Sudan’s People’s Liberation Army, such as attacks against civilians or looting of civilian homes and businesses, or the complicated regional politics fueling the conflict.”

Not that relevant for the cause. I’m sure the guy was stressed, and his wife is right. Too much money to handle. You don’t know what’s yours and what you can’t touch. Poor guy. Danica Russell concluded in her press release: “The message of the film remains the same: stop at nothing!”
