5 Reasons to Avoid Conspirationist Ardor

Scully and Mulder

A post by Adriana Popovici. Ah, conspiracy theories! Hacking the maleficent web of world domination. Exposing the plans brewed in the shadows of the Earth. We're all pretty much going to die. There is a chance for a better world, but... it's dim. Yeeet, there is hope. But hope is not enough... Until next time, buy this new book and be enlightened. And buy that one too - the authors promote each other. They're teaching you how to survive the end of the world. And don't miss their conference this month - we're going to learn what REALLY goes on in the shadows! Buy your ticket now, and don't forget to subscribe to our blog! Hmm... Jokes aside, I sometimes fail to see the difference between conspirationism and some other form of pastime. Also, I hate this topic when it simply falls into the triviality of bigotry, throwing around insults and boasting gratuitous superiority. Between "sheeple" and "tin-foil-hat" societies, the truth becomes irrelevant and futile, conflicts arise, wasting time, energy and good chances to make a real change for the better. So let's be really smart for a minute, and think of a few unpleasant things that might happen if you choose to "investigate" sinister conspiracies with dedication, daily. 1. Your life will be miserable There is evil in the … [Read more...]

The Columnist

Thomas Friedman

I was waiting for a certain guest post on this category I so affected proclaimed that I hate :). Oh, but it's plenty to fill the page on this. I could have put this in Life or even in Art, but I'm not digesting the book written so witty by Belén Fernández, The Imperial Messenger: Thomas Friedman at Work. I want to talk about this Friedman character, Pulitzer Prize winner, author, journalist and columnist. The Imperial Messenger: Thomas Friedman at Work is a take-down of the three-time Pulitzer recipient and foreign affairs columnist for the New York Times. One of the primary establishment cheerleaders for the war on Iraq, Friedman is known for such moves as instructing the entire Iraqi nation to "Suck. On. This" in response to 9/11 despite himself condemning the Bush administration for suggesting a link between Saddam Hussein and Osama bin Laden. He meanwhile urges the U.S. public to believe that the invasion is “the most radical-liberal revolutionary war the U.S. has ever launched” while simultaneously defining himself as "a liberal on every issue other than this war." - Belén Fernández I've encountered a "ban" trying to download the picture directly from New York Times Examiner's media files, so I've taken it from the article, which prooved to appeared … [Read more...]

Guns Ban

Obama "training"

Sometimes I hate to write here. I'm bored to death of Assange's picture on my home page, and of Assange in general. I was one of the guys who believed in the deplorable Wikileaks. I still believe in a free press, a free word and ideas trading. I believe in a free world. But as my wonderful partner use to say, "world doesn't want to be free". I'm not a conspiracy theorist, I only try to see the shadows. Very little things happens without a reason. Media is a dangerous instrument. Unfortunately I'll post here sooner than I wanted, because I never plan to reveal a stupid thing. I was upset when I started this category, it seems I can't stop, as much as I want to stop. This picture below is what gave me the click for this post, by being promoted on G+. No matter how agreed and loved is Obama by millions, he is part of the same machine. Not only he's not going to change the world for the best, but he's planted there to go with the plan, NWO, 1984, Brave New World, The Hunger Games, whatever... [source] the google plus stream, it was a promoted shot. Now, what is going to happen to America if the guns will be banned? It will become a dictatorship like the former countries in the Eastern Europe, Continental China and North Korea, where only the state, police and the mob … [Read more...]

New Media Award?

Assange interviewed for The Economist

This is confusing. Remember maybe my statement almost two years ago, "It is not enough", an homage as I saw it, to Julian Assange, Wikileaks founder. He was freed on bail, after nine days of detention for questioning over alleged sex offenses. It was 2010. [source] I was duped as I wasn't by the "Arab Spring" or other mass arranged events. I was duped because I respected John Pilger who continue to sustain that Assange is a kind of angel of freedom. A controlled freedom, unfortunately. Ken Loach as well. I'm very disappointed. I started to question the thing, and as almost never happened, I was going with the wave. I read "cables". That Bradley Manning the United States Army soldier who was arrested in May 2010 in Iraq on suspicion of having passed classified material to the website WikiLeaks and Sarah Palin declarations acted as support for his "whistle-blowing". The continuously movements and mirroring of the site, and why not, some interesting stuff, never presented before. Interesting, but not essential. [source] Celebrities who had offered to put up bail money for Julian Assange were turned down in favor of "more distinguished" financial supporters. Bianca Jagger, Jemima Khan and Michael Moore were among those who offered help, but the judge said he felt … [Read more...]
