The following quotes are from Times. On my news stream the first impression came from Indian Daily News or something, due to Vidya Balan’s presence in the jury.
Spielberg made just that point at a press conference after the ceremony. He called Adèle ”a great love story that made all of us feel privileged to be a fly on the wall, to see this story of deep love and deep heartbreak evolve from the beginning.” The director didn’t put any constraints on the narrative. He let the scenes play in real life, and we were absolutely spellbound.” Sundance Selects has acquired the U.S. rights to Adèle. As the jury president said of the film’s chances with American audiences and censors: “I’m not sure it will be allowed to play in every state.”
Following is the complete list of Spielberg jury’s winners:
Palme d’Or: La Vie d’Adèle (Blue Is the Warmest Color), Abdellatif Kechiche with Adèle Exarchopoulos and Léa Seydoux, France
Grand Prix: Inside Llewyn Davis, Joel and Ethan Coen, U.S.

I haven’t seen the movie yet. BBC headline was: “Cannes Film Festival: Lesbian drama wins Palme d’Or” which is nasty, because it was the love story and the artistry which won, not the “lesbian drama”. Anyway, I try as much as possible not to extract my positive inspiration or sources from BBC, except maybe some pics when they are more catchy than others.
Down here you have the jury again, on the red carpet.

Interesting fact for the Festival, at it’s 66’th edition, another French language movie took Palme D’Or, for the second year in a row, and that’s a premiere.
I couldn’t left you without a video. It’s a scene from the movie.

No surprises this time I guess, still pretty good artists were awarded.
