One of my favorite TV shows, America’s Got Talent, just started its 12thy season, on May 30, on NBC. One Million Dollars has to be won by the one chosen from the public at home. The first episode in Qualifications stage was already full of wonders. After the first contestant, a chicken called Jocku who played a keyboard without fault, you start to wonder like Dewey Cox, “How can we beat this?”. That’s right. Besides great voices, great dancers, amazing magic numbers and physical tricks, you face a great production.

America’s Got Talent – New Host
After Nick Cannon has been fired following a controversial joke he made in one of his stand-up routines and explained on Howard Stern Show, on SiriusXM, the NBC hired Tyra Banks, who is presented on the nbc.com website as “supermodel, entrepreneur and CEO”. Actually she’s considered and quite is, one of the greatest supermodels of all times.
Nick Cannon upset some NBC execs with a joke he made during a stand-up comedy special. He joked with the audience that NBC was making him lose his “black card”, insinuating the network wanted him to show less haughtiness on America’s Got Talent. NBC execs heard of it when Nick was promoting the special on “The Howard Stern Show” and thought he was disparaging the network, considering the joke a violation of his contract. It seemed his deal had a clause that bars him from talking about the network without approval.
There is no amount of money worth my dignity or my integrity. I have loved hosting AMERICAS GOT TALENT for the last 8 seasons, watching talented, brave, and courageous Americans accomplish their dreams in front of millions has been nothing but a joy, and everyone has been a pleasure to work with but my soul won’t allow me to be in business with corporations that attempt to frown on freedom of speech, censor artists, and question cultural choices. Not to get too detailed but this isn’t the first time executives have attempted to “put me in my place” for so called unruly actions. I will not stand for it. My moral principles will easily walk away from the millions of dollars they hang over my head. It’s never been about the money for me, what is difficult to walk away from is the fans, the people who love me on the show. This hurts tremendously. – Nick Cannon on Facebook
Tyra Banks already faced a lawsuit filed by a contestant who accused her of “willfully and with malicious intent initiated a harmful and offensive physical contact” with her daughter, Mary. After America’s Got Talent allegedly humiliated the contestant and her husband on-camera, Banks allegedly “physically manipulated and verbally abused Mary. Banks shook Mary’s shoulder, pulled Mary’s hair back and physically manipulated Mary. Mary became nervous when she realizes that Banks is planning to physically manipulate her. Banks also insinuated that Mary was accidentally conceived, made fun of the performance and ridiculed the song in front of Mary.” The suit further insists that the incident “caused Mary to undergo humiliation, embarrassment, mental anguish, and emotional distress,” and that, “As a result of her negative experience from America’s Got Talent and defendants’ abusive treatment, Mary was traumatized, and became deeply depressed.”
Nothing really happened yet, NBC still haven’t fired Tyra, and as I have watched during the three auditions episodes aired till now, she is the sort of a diva in a good sense (as Simon Cowell said in an interview). Yet she still has some big shoes to fill in.
Video Promo for the 12th Season
The veteran of the show, is incontestably Howie Mandel, the stand-up comedian and lucid jury member.
In the end, I want to remind you something unforgettable about Tyra Banks and Heidi Klum: watch the next video from watchmojo.com!
I’m curious if you follow America’s Got Talent, one of the few reality shows I have the patience to watch.
