It is a mystery for me of when I felt attracted to Will Ferrell‘s antics, I can’t recall it at all, but I’m sure now that he is one of my favorite comic actors alive, and if I try to judge deeper of what kind of movies I’m digging lately, he became one of my favorite actors, along with what was called The Frat Pack after the movie Old School, meaning Ben Stiller, Luke Wilson, Vince Vaughn, Owen Wilson and without any doubt, Jack Black, even if this one wasn’t playing maybe in the movie.

This above is the original and I’ll show you yet another picture with all the team and wannabees, even if I have considerable doubts of involving the second row of the picture, at all. It was called “The Apatow connection”. The person who arranged the panel apparently wanted to put all the people who acted in films advertised as “comedies” on it, by that considering them, “comics”. I don’t know, it’s a matter of taste, I think.
This one is borrowed from a site called the-frat-pack.com. I have an opinion which is not very authoritative for the subject, and I’m afraid is based on the fact that I don’t consider Steve Carell a great comic actor, actually I don’t think of him even as a good actor per total. He seems funny but he isn’t. Will Ferrell and Jack Black might have been viewed as some “no winning” persons at a time, considering the investment versus gain, especially Will Ferrell with $1.02 revenue for every $1 invested in him. I read this on yahoo news a few years ago, and than I think I started to look closer. As examples of “good investment”, Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox were considered, they had the first round of Transformers at the time and even if the film grossed hundred of millions of dollars, these kids had a very low fee, to justify what I stated. I’ve seen some Jude Apatow movies, like The 40 Years Old Virgin and Superbad or the ones starring Will Ferrell, Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy , and I still don’t see why Carell has to be on the list… Because of The Office? Maybe, it’s for sure not because of It seems the guy dreamed to be considered a comic, or an actor, and he succeeded to convince some people that he really is, and maybe he’s content now. For me he’s just too pompous for my taste, without being comical, on the contrary, he provokes me. Remember his attitude against Ricky Gervais at the last Globes Award, 🙂

I’ve recently watched The Other Guys , and I’m not very pleased with the movie, but taking note that Will Ferrell obviously acted in less forgettable movies than Robert DeNiro, I can only say that it was not about the performance, it was about the subject. A “comical design” of the world as it is right now. Incompetent gamblers managing world finances and brainless monkeys as law and order keepers. What about the “people”? Robots and more (not want to use hard words yet)! The film is incredibly high rated on imdb (my favorite source, since rottentomatoes had fallen in my eyes after I figured that they are just hosting some pretentious film “critics” opinion, trying to “direct” your feelings for a movie or another) 6.6, with over 44 thousand votes! Whalberg wasn’t very funny, but it was less disturbing than Carell in any other movie, Mr. “Tristram Shandy” Steve Coogan was really good and the mighty Ray Stevenson reminds me I haven’t seen him since the HBO’s Rome.
All in all, Will Ferrell is a great comic and actor. He knows what he’s doing. Please have a look of him with The Other Guys ‘ director, his friend, Adam McKay.
Terrible landlord. (When I think I have had considered the posts with videos embed, too “flashy” and how wrong I was, I’m almost sorry.)
Coming back to the main subject, in the end I have to tell you that sometimes, it takes an insufferable guy to mask some truth and to show it to the public, just for fun. The robots are programed to not believe anything too obvious and to consider what is comfortable for a certain class. You see, there isn’t a way for a normal citizen to control or to be absolutely sure that bin Laden was behind 9/11 attacks with civil airplanes, that costs lives of certainly innocent people and the demolition of the twin towers. The media was ordered in the hour after the attack to put bin Laden’s name on the market. And so, this guy who I’m not pretending now, is or was actually a poor dervish praying isolated somewhere in the afghan caves, so the US establishment would vote through their president for the “immediate termination” of the poor little country as a punishment form, taking control of the poppy fields there and the opium through heroin workshops, or factories, whatever, and by that of the %80 of the world heroin, :). But the life goes on, we all know that, with slight genetically modified changes detected sometimes only by the sane…
