Saturday Night Live is one of the most hilarious shows ever to be aired. The concept and the wit of the sketches are not to be seen anywhere. It is humor in its purest sense. Everything is done because of the talented creators and actors. I have compiled such a list on imdb, called “The Best SNL People”, consisting of fifty four actors and actresses with a permanent role in the show, not just hosts or invited guests.
I have read a lot of reviews about this marvelous show. I don’t understand why a lot of people are so negative. The “critics” always complain when new actors are on board and the old ones are gone to do other things, more profitable, maybe some movies or some shows of their own. I think that every fresh injection is better than what it was before, because the mentalities are somehow changing. Anyway, I’m not gonna say in this post what I don’t like, because I’m afraid I like the show, actually I like the sketches, the opening monologues, everything. They rarely are lacking humor, if maybe one in ten isn’t hilarious, is just good, there is always the next who is better.
Maybe some of you don’t like some guests as actors, maybe you like them too much and don’t get it when they are pathetic. This is a show to stir a lot of reactions. For sample, I’m not quite a Jimmy Fallon fan, but he has a few impersonations on the show, I liked quite a lot. Maybe you remember my fondness for Will Ferrell and Chris Kattan, so it’s out of the question to have something to complain. Maybe I just like Ferrell’s brutish sort of humor, knowing a great deal of sensibility underside. And Darrell Hammond, maybe the most talented actor to have ever been there, aside SNL, he was lost in small parts in “crazy” comedies like “Scary Movie 5”, “Scary Movie 3”, or “Epic Movie”.

You have down here, Hammond with “MacGruber” Will Forte, impersonating George W. Bush with Dick Cheney.
These sort of sketches are my favorites. I like some with guests as well, one is “Daveheart” up, or the one with “Mick Jagger Karaoke”.
I don’t want to forget to mention some of the other talented team who made the show being at its best (a few are on the list link up, at the beginning of this post): Fred Arminsen (he is one of the best Obamas, Queen Elizabeth II, and many more), Jason Sudeikis, Bill Hader, Maya Rudolph, Kristen Wiig (Bridesmaids’ screenwriter is everywhere in this show, she steals all teh scenes, she’s in all the skits and sketches), Tina Fey (which I didn’t like from the beginning, I don’t know why, now I’m a big fan), Amy Poehler (another great talent in everything she does), Rachel Dratch, Nasim Pedrad (the best Kim Kardashian and Arianna Huffington), Vanessa Bayer, Jenny Slate, Abby Elliott, Bobby Moynihan, Seth Meyers, Chris Parnel, Andy Samberg, Kate McKinnon (just great), or Taran Killam. A big cheers for the old good members, like Bill Murray, or the late “Don Vito Corleone” John Belushi, Tim Meadows, Eddy Murphy (another great actor), Horatio Sanz or David Spade.
Even the guests or hosts weren’t bad at all, they all had something funny, even if their natures are maybe not just funny. I found less than funny Natalie Portman, Gwyneth Paltrow, Channing Tatum or Scarlett Johannson. And I found hilarious Alec Baldwin, John Goodman, Justin Timberlake, Emma Stone, Sofia Vergara, Anne Hathaway, Robert De Niro, Kevin Spacey or Gerard Butler. What a show!
