Prologue in your path to own your website
If you have your own domain, a good hosting provider, and you use the powerful WordPress web software, congratulations, you’re almost doing great in your path to own your website, but bear with me and read to the end, because I want to show you what is missing.

Genesis is a solid WordPress framework by Studiopress, and is used by prestigious sites and people such as Chris Brogan, Darren Rowse of Problogger.net, even WordPress co-founder Matt Mullenweg. Add to this the excellent customizable ready-made themes, and you have the best tools to build yourself your own professional website.

Costs
Registrars, hosting providers – there are plenty to choose from. A hosting program costs between $14 and $120 per Month, or even more. The domain will cost you another $12-15 or more, per year. Genesis is aprox. $60 by itself, with a Premium “child theme” it is between $100-150, separate child themes are $55-120 each.
After this, you’re on your own – usually meaning you’ll have to figure out how to implement the framework, themes, plugins, and handle a good amount of frustration, before you even start posting. This scares people off, especially non-tech ones who simply need a blog/website. It doesn’t have to be this way.
