Sometime in November 2017, Twitter doubled the number of characters allowed to appear in a "post". I haven't written yet about it because a lot of others did and the same article appeared without shame on a hundred websites. Also the interface slightly changed, the characters number was replaced with a sort of a counting wheel. Is it a good thing? We'll see. Twitter always, from the beginning wanted to be considered a micro-blogging platform. [source: … [Read more...]
Nasty Moves from Instagram, Just When I Started to Like Them
I fell in love with Instagram, another platform where people show pictures to the masses. What is awesome and different from Google Plus, which with all its pretended complexity seems to be just the place where amateurs and professionals show and appreciate each others' photos? Now, because Instagram is mostly a mobile application, there is a greater probability for pictures to have been made by the sharers, instead of being taken from Pinterest or 500px.com. RIPTwitter – There Is No Smoke Without Fire
Twitter, my favorite Social Media venue of all times, gave birth to a wave of anger late Saturday, which generated the #RIPTwitter hashtag. It seems that people got rumors about some major changes for the famous micro-blogging site. Twitter is famous because it is based on the SMS model of "posting" updates, the SMS has 160 characters, a Twitter post has 140, 20 being reserved for the username (which is actually of maximum 15 characters, not counting the @ prefix). It is true that a lot of so … [Read more...]
Are You Blocked on Twitter?
I have over eight unfinished post projects at the moment (just here, not counting the other sites I own), my Alexa Rank is on a free downfall with figures, in Romania the corrupted Prime Minister resigned and along with him the whole executive resigned as well, and I am talking now about geeking Twitter. I have considered Google Plus very disappointing when they have repeatedly showed the grossest disrespect for its users, and that, coming from my favorite Social Media venue, was the reason why … [Read more...]
Twitter Tools of the Moment
I'm sure you know, or at least you remember that I greatly recommend HootSuite as one of the essential tools for Social Media in general, and for Twitter especially. But this post will mention again tweepi.com and manageflitter.com. I have re-discovered TweetDeck, now being integrated almost completely in Twitter, opening in your browser and authenticating you with your Twitter account, but I shall dedicate maybe some time to TweetDeck in another post. Now, this is about a few small things I … [Read more...]
Thoughts on Some Social Media Sharing Tools
Believe me, dear friends, I want to spend a little bit more time on Google Plus, because it's serious indeed! Only I can't! Like any of you, I have some other things to do, too :) Sometimes, the technology plays some jokes on me, or on my equipment, sometimes I'm too busy with real life events, so, Google Plus, the invasive and addicting G+, takes a secondary place. Sometimes I'm disappointed by what happens, sometimes the browser crashes when I'm in the middle of commenting on some witty … [Read more...]
