Very predictable winners, at least at the major categories, and the British ones, of course. As the original Academy of whom BAFTA is just a copycat, the winners in each category is voted by their fellow peers, actors by actors, writers by writers and directors by directors, you understand very well, I hope, what I mean. I'm really sorry for not expressing my predictions a little bit earlier, but major work has intervened and I'm really happy to even be in time with this post. The whole list of … [Read more...]

Another premiere on my blog this year is Critics' Choice Movie Awards, an important event in the world of cinema today. The ceremony took place on January 16'th this year, so this list with the nominees and winners is here just for the record, as well with the full show's youtube video at the end of the post. People’s Choice Awards 2014
Because this year marks the 40th anniversary of the People's Choice Awards, I have decided to make an inaugural post with them, even if I don't really believe in "people's choice". The voting for this "awards" is online, so everybody got its chance to have a say! From the multitude of lists on the internet, I have chosen the one published by CNN. The post is indeed, just information, no comments. All pictures are from BBC. Invictus – Review Dedicated to Nelson Mandela
This is a special movie, about a very special historical character. The recent death of President Nelson Mandela, made this movie more than special. It is a ten on my list, and that's amazing because I'm not very fond of Clint Eastwood, Morgan Freeman or Matt Damon. They are all great and awarded, and they all participated to give value to the movie. Clint Eastwood uses some cheap emotional clichés in almost every movie, so they are classic by now. This movie is a masterpiece. It shows without … [Read more...]
Stand Up Guys
Stand-Up Guys is the last Al Pacino movie I’ve seen. He’s not alone, of course, but it is not important. The subject is pretty lame. There is this bunch of decrepit mobsters, one played by Pacino and another one played by Christopher Walken. Walken has to kill Pacino when he came out of prison where he stayed alone because he never talked. Nobody expected him to talk, but in the last heist they pulled out, the son of a local “made” guy got killed. So this “chief” wanted Pacino dead to revenge … [Read more...]
