Tony Scott, the director of Top Gun, died Sunday at age 68, his publicist has confirmed to Entertainment Weekly, a site I used to be subscribed to. According to the Los Angeles Police Department’s harbor division, the British-born filmmaker jumped to his death from the Vincent Thomas bridge near Long Beach, California.
According to officials, the Scott climbed a fence on the south side of the bridge and leapt off around 12:30 p.m. Police reportedly found a suicide note inside his black Toyota, which was parked on the bridge. His identity was confirmed around 7 p.m. by the Los Angeles County coroner’s office. Those unfortunate news were brought to my attention by imdb.

He is mostly an action type, his directing portfolio includes Unstoppable (the action thriller with Denzel Washington, Chris Pine and Rosario Dawson, in 2010), Deja Vu (the action sci-fi thriller with Denzel Washington, Paula Patton, Val Kilmer, and Jim Caviezel, in 2006), Domino (the action crime drama thriller with Keira Knightley, Mickey Rourke, and Édgar Ramírez in 2005), Man on Fire (the crime drama thriller with Denzel Washington, Dakota Fanning, Marc Anthony, and Radha Mitchell, in 2004), Spy Game (the action thriller with Robert Redford and Brad Pitt, in 2001), Enemy of the State (the action drama thriller with Will Smith, Gene Hackman, Jon Voight, Lisa Bonet, and Regina King, in 1998), The Fan (the drama sport thriller with Robert De Niro, Wesley Snipes, Ellen Barkin, John Leguizamo, and Benicio Del Toro, in 1996), Crimson Tide (the action drama thriller with Denzel Washington, Gene Hackman, Matt Craven, George Dzundza, Viggo Mortensen, and James Gandolfini, in 1995), True Romance ( a crime romance thriller written by Quentin Tarantino, having a lot of famous acting in it, like Christian Slater, Patricia Arquette, Dennis Hopper, Val Kilmer, Gary Oldman, Brad Pitt, Christopher Walken, Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Rapaport, and James Gandolfini in 1993), The Last Boy Scout (the action comedy who made famous Bruce Willis, in 1991), Days of Thunder (the action sport drama where a Scientologist meets an Australian and marry her, in 1990), Revenge ( the drama romance with Kevin Costner, Anthony Quinn, and Madeleine Stowe, in 1990), Beverly Hills Cop II (the action comedy with Eddie Murphy, in 1987), The Hunger (the horror romance with Catherine Deneuve, David Bowie and Susan Sarandon, in 1983). The most famous of all those movies, remains Top Gun, the action drama romance with Tom Cruise, Kelly McGillis and Val Kilmer, released in 1986, a time when Cruise was still Catholic.
Tony Scott graduated from the Royal College Of Art In London, and is a partner with Ridley Scott, in Scott Free Productions. He used to like dogs and has had a romantically adventure with Brigitte Nielsen at a time they were both married. He used to be 1.69 meters tall. He met his third and last wife with whom he had two kids, Donna W. Scott, on set of Days of Thunder, like Tom Cruise. He generally liked tall blond women. A lot of others in Hollywood, are worse directors than Tony Scott.
