By saying comedy , I think to the film genre, not other form of the arts palette, and with She’s Out of My League I’m starting this genre posts on my blog. In a positive note I can say that it’s a hard time to find a good comedy these days, but if you’re not giving up so quick, you’ll be successful enough for the effort made to be deserved. Big fan of movies anyway, I happened to stumble upon some good stuff. I was more attracted by the “serious” type, politicos, gross substance kinda Syriana or Michael Clayton (not Babel , no, that sucks big time and, by the way, instead of The Imaginarium, I wanted to make something like “Who or what sucks in cinema” as the category title) pieces, but I can spot a good one anyway, be it a comedy or whatever other genre.
(“The Imaginarium of an Ancient Mariner” is the name of my former blog)
Turning back to comedy, I unexpectedly found out that the 2010 release, She’s Out of my League , is quite funny. Obscure, “no names”, jerk-ish on a first assessment, it was fresh in the anomaly of the subject and just for the absence of the “stars”. Like it a lot, for a movie directed by a writer-actor-exec producer (still obscure, on my humble opinion) who does a lot of things at the same time, but does them good. A name to remember then, Jim Field Smith .

Comedy’s plot without major spoilers
It is about an average guy (Jay Baruchel – Tropic Thunder as something more significant) who isn’t an average at all, just a little weird and a noble soul who met the “perfect” blond-woman-girl (Alice Eve – this is as un-famous as it gets, oh, some role in Sex and the City 2, a 3.9 user rating quotation on IMDB, facing the 6.7 of this actual movie rating, not bad) and she likes him because she senses the good soul and blah, blah, even if she was a law schooled high payed event planner and he was a sort of no-college Airport Security Staff looser with premature ejaculations.

I’m trying to be not malicious saying that Molly (played by Miss Eve, who looks and acts way better than the higher pushed to the public eye, Scarlett Johansson), has also a snobbish background – facing his totally screwed-up unconventional family, who, on top of all, has adopted in the house, his former girlfriend (brilliantly played by Lindsay Sloane ) with her new boyfriend, the “entrepreneur” Ron (played by mo matter who). Because all of this is happening at the beginning, you’ll have around 100 hilarious minutes of entertainment, to find out how and what.
Why the parallel with Scarlett Johansson? I don’t know really, maybe the height and bulk and talent of both (the lack of it for Johansson). Oh, and because of heterochromia, a difference in the iris coloration, which Alice Eve is blessed with, and Johansson isn’t, like this hypnotic cat’s eyes:

Famous or not, she did also some nudie with Ray Liotta, in Crossing Over (2009), 6.9 on imdb , another thing that keeps her apart from the Danish named one.
