I’ve just found out (again), that Bono helped the Third World’s external debt to be paid.
Where? On Discovery Channel, in a car advertising show. His car, was considered “cool” I don’t remember the brand. The guys who made it, present every week a new car, or type of engine, they’re wrecking or testing, or whatever. What I’ve noticed is that they are as subjective as I am (you’ll see why), with the difference they’re paid to say a Citroen is better than a Honda, even when they have identical characteristics. It’s not possible, it’s only that the guys said that. “This Honda has the same engine and is a copycat of that Citroen, but we say you buy the Citroen, and you’ll thank us later…” It scratched my ear.
Yes, they had two panels with car pictures. One cool, and one not, as in “you have to change it, because it’s not trendy anymore” and they moved cars from a panel to the other, keeping Bono’s in the “cool” one at the bottom, because “he helped the third world’s external debt to be paid”. I’ve changed instantly the channel, I’m not a fan of Discovery anyway, but that was already too much.
Maybe I’m wrong considering the great voice and artist Bono Vox (and this, in a mixture of Hispanic and pure Latin means “good voice”) a very dull person, after listening of him speaking in the documentary Rattle and Hum, having a few beers on board. It is a very subjective opinion on my part. This was connected with a whole presentation of him and another bunch of known people, Mathieu Kassovitz among them, in a Times Magazine, a good decade ago, as politically correct. I understand then, that all the “activism” was only for rating. And if some money fall for AIDS in Africa or famine in Africa or whatever, from politically correct organizations like UNICEF or even the mighty UN, much the better. Hmm!
That’s all, enjoy the video I linked for your eyes only, when you click on Bono’s name, 🙂
This lines above are a transferred post from another blog of mine, which I’ll inactivate very soon. So soon it’ll not be remembered, ever, :).
About the channel, I enjoy a lot Discovery World, Discovery Science and Discovery Travel & Living. The Discovery show’s name is Top Gear, a show I used to stumbled upon on BBC World, few years ago. Anyway, I think that only Discovery Channel Romania acquired this show, I tried a lot to remember the name of it and research a little, maybe even paste a little Bono speaking video, 🙂 .
I have researched the primal fact that triggered this article. The help given by Paul Hewson aka Bono Vox, which as a name, by the way isn’t the alteration of the Latin “bona vox” – “good voice” as seems logical, he has a great voice, but is the name of a Dublin Pharmacy, the help given to relieve Third World debt. How ? Has the Third World debt been payed and I haven’t heard of it? And yet, so start his imdb biography. People reading this blog know by now, that I consider International Movie Data Base a principal source of reference for my affirmations, film related. Incomplete, but not misguiding.
Digging more, I discovered he is named sometimes an Illuminati puppet, fact that is an exaggeration, having the Honor Legion distinction from a Grand Master or being knighted by the Queen of an ancestral enemy country doesn’t make one an Illuminati puppet, maybe just an aspirant to a sort of Elite puppet, which helps quite a lot. I discovered that the band U2 is a bunch of arch-capitalists and they make it look as they are not. Bono is somebody who’s exceptionally rich taking the opportunity to shift his tax burden to somebody else, but then asking governments around the world to spend that tax take in the way that he would like. According to Bloomberg.com – Bono’s empire encompasses real estate, private-equity investments, a hotel, a clothing line and a chain of restaurants. Along with fellow band members, he also owns a stake in 15 companies and trusts, including concert-booking agencies, record production firms and trusts. U2 was one of the first successful bands in the world to have obtained all rights to its own music.
And this is going on and on. It is easier to sell big when you show you care…
