My Beautiful Turkey, a Lucid Love With or Without Erdoğan

February 13, 2021 By Daniel Mihai Popescu 1 Comment

President Erdoğan trying to be eloquent in front of his Party members

I love Istanbul, as being the most beautiful city in the world. Complementary I love Turkey as a whole, and even if in the past I have projected a Dogville vision on her, I felt justified at the time, otherwise nothing budged my really deep good feelings. They are logical, subjective, and objective, based on my own experience and research, both locally and outside. I consider my views to be broader than the official version the Turks are subjected to. I met a lot of people, I dealt with a lot of … [Read more...]

Poor Pompous Critic, Don’t Spoil My Pleasure!

September 4, 2017 By Daniel Mihai Popescu Leave a Comment

Lindsay Duncan, the critic having a revelation in Birdman

I have never liked a movie review, or, by the way, any review which uncovers the plot in the first sentences. Actually, I quite hate these sort of reviews. I like to be surprised by a film, or book, or whatever masterpiece which was made exactly for that, it was conceived to throw me and you out of our-self with laugh, grief, or gore, one never knows. Then some pretentious "famous" critic spoils it for me, because he's "smart" and doesn't stomach the author, or the star in the movie he … [Read more...]

Oscars 2017 – The Most Embarrassing Show

May 6, 2017 By Daniel Mihai Popescu Leave a Comment

There wasn't Beatty's fault, he was obviously handled the wrong envelope

Oscars 2017 awards ceremony was by far a very embarrassing and disputable show, even if the actual weirdness started much earlier. Yes, dear friends, it was more absurd than this year's Golden Globes, where "Hollywood legend" Meryl Streep threw some venomous spikes at their democratically elected president, misinterpreting some of Donald Trump chaotic aping gestures. She has been applauded long lasting moments (even if she pretended to have "only three seconds to say this"). Her peers repeated … [Read more...]

Top 5 Luxury Brokerage Companies Worldwide

There are many fantastic yacht brokerages around the world to choose from- so many that compiling such a short list can’t help but do a disservice to the numerous quality companies left off. However, the five companies that appear on this list have won their places for being major players in the industry, having client lists and networks that span the globe, and operating in both the yacht sales and yacht charter markets. Along with the long-established players, there are a couple of relative … [Read more...]

Patreon- Screenshot on the "about" Page: These are artists you can sponsor

Patreon is a crowdfunding site based in San Francisco, California, very popular with content creators. By content creators you have to understand artists, musicians, writers, even bloggers, but the most prominent on Patreon are vloggers, the youtube videos' creators. This site has been founded by a musician, Jack Conte, together with a web developer, Sam Yam. The site helps creators in the world to achieve sustainable income. It is not a business per se, as it is a way to channel some … [Read more...]

Pi Day, Make a Pie!

March 15, 2015 By Daniel Mihai Popescu Leave a Comment

Pi Day! Pi has nine decimals here

Yesterday was the PI Day, as every March, 14 day is, every year. But yesterday was special because the year we are in is 2015. The English spoken world spells the year as "15". So, writing the day, today, we have 3.14.15. Coincidentally, 15 are the following decimals after 14, "3.14" being the general and the most often used abbreviation of what "Pi" represents. [source: Pinterest] First nine decimals of π can be represented by just giving the exact date and time at nine twenty six and … [Read more...]
