The end of Twitter as we know it?

November 26, 2011 By Daniel Mihai Popescu 2 Comments

Dear friends, busy as I was, I haven’t let you know my latest blurbs regarding Social Media, and speaking of it, regarding my favorite, Twitter, a site, a tool, a meaning, a sharing place or market. They wanted this to give quick results. They, the stock marketers, evaluated, hyper evaluated and over evaluated the site, actually.

Lost meaning, 🙂 (from cagle.com)

On the other side, I have left almost everything to wait until I would have finished my book about Twitter and Twitter marketing with wit, and… I’m disappointed on what is happening there, right now, at the moment I’m writing. I have two accounts, as you already know, anyway, it’s not hard to find out anything if is capturing your interest, anytime, I have a lot of followers, I have a lot of people I consider friends, because this is what they are, my friends, I share with them and I communicate with them, I even sell to them, although this is harder than ever now, and it wouldn’t have to be so, but it is, because everyone is selling there, less and less are communicating anymore. Actually they are, because most of the people are the same, a lot of them are using other platforms as well, like my not so favorite Facebook, but I’m not having anything more to blame about Facebook, this post is about Twitter, not Facebook, and I’m not selling you anything with it. Twitter is a site where intelligent created software can make accounts and use the created accounts. Now, we know that the most intelligent software ever created isn’t as intelligent as you are, my friends, but this one I’m talking about, which is using Twitter, is tweeting and filling the spaces there in such an annoying way that the good people happy go lucky using Twitter with no bad intent, are underexposed, covered and lost in a middle of links, quotes and nonsense “tweeted” by the above named software. On top of it, Twitter was “monetized” and now one can see other kind of adverts in the streams. But what I’m aware, is that the links and adverts people subscribed,  aren’t considered because the streams are filled with them. Not even a link to your blog is considered anymore. Nothing wrong with adverts, as long as they’re not intrusive. Real people are tired of the autobots, the machines. Twitter is invaded, it’s security is also down, is cracking every time, there are timelines when one can’t even connect there as quick as needed. So why to write anything anymore, it’s useless. What I have considered useless, or at least, of very little value on the matter, was already sold, by famous publishers, under overnight famous signatures, and that’s it, the subject lost it’s interest. What I wanted to share with the market, some things I considered valuable and never told in the form I discovered them and formulated, and re-formulated, is over rated. What’s the value in that? (as my good partner and lover, Adriana, will say…)

exactly (from geekandpoke.typepad.com)

I discovered that I follow back fifty to one hundred accounts per day, and my followers number decrease, or is almost the same, meaning the obvious fact that I’m un-followed on the same rate, or almost the same, anyway.

This is also lost, 🙂 (from cagle.com)

There are tools, sites which helps you to clean your account of un-followers, and I discover that along some of the bots (I followed them as well, the first bots were useful at the beginnings, my beginnings, anyway), a lot of real people are un-following. I know, they consider I don’t especially communicate with them anymore, but it isn’t true, I can’t see them anymore, that’s my reason. My vanity tells me that who un-follows me doesn’t deserve to know what I have to say anyway, but I’m sad. Sometimes “too simple” is not enough. Maybe we need some more barriers and obstacles, more complicated designs, to protect us from ourselves. Maybe…

As usual I’m very impressed with Rodolfo’s Insights.Twitter isn’t good at getting people to look at novels. There’s a lot of things that are uninteresting, but I refuse to use Facebook, which sells information I deleted four years ago. On google+ someone put a browser rerouter on my machine. Security essentials caught it, but not before it had polluted my machine. Buying Norton fixed this, but clearly there are no firewalls there. I use twitter because in the country of the blind, the one eyed man is king. I get to communicate with Rodolfo and make my day better.

I’m sorry to hear this, Rich. Twitter started an era of decadence. It was hacked, I receive a lot of DM’s with thrash and potential viruses in links. I don’t exactly understand what happened on G+, what are you talking about, but you know better, :). Thanks for passing by, and feel free to comment any time you need to say something. I have edited the link you put every time when you comment, and the answer is positive. I’ll write about it, as well, 🙂
