Sadness across India when Sridevi, one of the biggest names in Hindi/Tamil/Telugu/Malayalam/Kannada cinema passes away after an accidental drowning in a bathtub at her suite booked at Jumeirah Emirates Towers Hotel in Dubai. This unpleasant event happened on 24 Feb 2018.
In Dubai, she was attending her nephew’s (Mohit Marwah) wedding. She arrived in Dubai two days earlier because she did some shopping for one of her daughter’s (Janhvi Kapoor) birthday to come. She was married to Indian movie producer, Boney Kapoor.

She Did’t Slip in a Pool while Being Drunk, Sridevi Died Accidentally Drowned
Her brother-in-law, Sanjay Kapoor, declared for the papers that the cause of death was a cardiac attack, but Dubai police’s investigation established Sridevi died in an “accidental drowning”.
Sridevi was probably the most popular Indian actress, per ensemble. She acts since the age of 4. A Tamil native, she was proficient in other Indian languages as well. At the end of the seventies and the beginning of eighties, she establishes herself as a Bollywood star.
After a noticeably weight loss, Sridevi made a successful return to the big screen fifteen years later in Gauri Shinde’s English Vinglish (2012), after she took a break from movies soon after she married producer Boney Kapoor in 1996. In this one, she played the role of a housewife taking English-language lessons.
In 2013, the Government of India awarded Sridevi the country’s fourth highest civilian award for her contributions to the entertainment industry. Other honorary awards were conferred by the state governments of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala. Sridevi was voted “India’s Greatest Actress in 100 Years” in a CNN-IBN national poll conducted in 2013 around the Indian cinema centenary’s celebration.
Her last screen appearance was in Mom (2017) as a mother avenging her daughter’s rape.
Now, this is just a “pill” here. Actually I wanted to write another article, but researching Bollywood News, this prominently came up, and I felt very sorry because I really liked her acting. I also like a great number of Bollywood movies. I haven’t seen a problem writing about this great actress’ death, a month after it happened. From now on, please be prepared for more on the Bollywood subject!
