What an Unpleasant Surprise: Sridevi Died at Only 54

March 18, 2018 By Daniel Mihai Popescu 1 Comment

Sridevi died - Here she appeared in English Vinglish (2012)

Sadness across India when Sridevi, one of the biggest names in Hindi/Tamil/Telugu/Malayalam/Kannada cinema passes away after an accidental drowning in a bathtub at her suite booked at Jumeirah Emirates Towers Hotel in Dubai. This unpleasant event happened on 24 Feb 2018. In Dubai, she was attending her nephew's (Mohit Marwah) wedding. She arrived in Dubai two days earlier because she did some shopping for one of her daughter’s (Janhvi Kapoor) birthday to come. She was married to Indian movie … [Read more...]

Saintly Thief and Royal Spy, Roger Moore Left the Arena

Simon Templar

Roger Moore, the second great James Bond (if we don't consider Lazenby), is the first of them who actually died. He left us on 23 May, 2017. We can say he was old enough to let cancer to beat him. He was born in London on 14 October 1927, so he wasn't quite ninety, but he almost caught this venerable age. Roger Moore - The Man [source] I come a little bit late with this post, mostly because there are two websites who steal my content entirely. They copy a whole article and post it on … [Read more...]

George Michael found dead

Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou aka George Michael, has been found dead in bed by his partner/boyfriend Fadi Fawad. I have been waiting for more news, even for something "darker", but apparently he suffered just a heart failure. Authorities don't suspect anything out of ordinary. Fawad tweeted and echoed: "I will never stop missing you". ITs a xmas i will never forget finding your partner dead peacefully in bed first thing in the morning.. I will never stop missing you xx— Fadi Fawaz … [Read more...]

Muhammad Ali over Sonny Liston, one of his most famous pictures

Muhammad Ali, born Cassius Marcellus Clay Jr. in Louisville, Kentucky, USA, on January 17, 1942, the greatest of the great boxers of all time, finally gave up on life a few days ago, on June 3, 2016 at the venerable age of 74, after a ten years long battle with Parkinson disease. He was hospitalized a day before for some respiratory issues, and died of septic shock a few hours later. This post is not news, it is a tribute to this sometimes controversial celebrated athlete with civic … [Read more...]

Debian Linux Creator Dead!

January 3, 2016 By Daniel Mihai Popescu Leave a Comment

Ian Murdock

Unfortunately, a few days ago, Ian Murdock, founder of the Debian GNU/Linux distribution project, has died at the age of forty-two. I have waited for news, but it doesn't matter anymore since he's dead already. Murdock was born in Germany on 28 April 1973. He wrote the Debian Manifesto when he was studying at Purdue University, where he earned his bachelor's degree in computer science in 1996. He named Debian after his then-girlfriend Debra Lynn, and himself (Deb and Ian). They married and … [Read more...]

Good Bye, Lauren Bacall

August 16, 2014 By Daniel Mihai Popescu Leave a Comment

Lauren Bacall

Lauren Bacall was born Betty Joan Perske on September 16, 1924, in the Bronx, New York, and have died after a massive stroke, on August 12, 2014. Almost 90, the poor gal. She was fine, she was famous, she was married with two famous Hollywood actors, and she was beautiful. Her mother, Natalie Weinstein-Bacal was a secretary and her father, William Perske, was a salesman. They were both Jewish, her mother of Romanian origins (actually she was born in Romania) and her father of Polish origins, … [Read more...]
