The Big Short is another movie on the Best Pictures nominees list this year. I am a very big admirer of all the guys involved with it, actors, the director, the book's author, etc, but I feel that I have to mention a few things from the beginning. This is not The Wolf of Wall Street, this is not some biography, this is a movie largely based on real facts with some more than large suppositions and invented characters. Nor them, nor the figures are appropriate, or even close to … [Read more...]

The Revenant, My Favorite Best Picture in 2016
The Revenant is a 2015 superb adventure drama directed by previous year's Best Director, Alejandro González Iñárritu. It is by far the most artistically beautiful movie in all the eight Oscar 2016 nominees. I regret now that I haven't begun the Oscars reviews marathon with this one, because it revealed itself to be my favorite in all eight. This is partially based on the novel with the same name written by Michael Punke in 2002. [source] The Revenant's History It is funny that in … [Read more...]

Brie Larson's performance in particular has been singled out for awards; she won the Golden Globe for "Best Actress in a Motion … [Read more...]

Bridge of Spies is the newest Steven Spielberg movie. More than that, it is written by Ethan and Joel Coen, helped by Matt Charman. Plot This movie is nominated for six Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Supporting Actor (for Rylance), and Best Original Screenplay. I would have … [Read more...]

Burnt – Such a Disappointment
I have waited too long for Burnt to be released after I've got noticed of it. Bradley Cooper, a rising star mostly because he's considered "hot", continues to be a disappointment for the second time in a row (first time was Aloha), after his Oscar nomination for American Sniper - 2014, which comes after another two, one for Best Actor (Silver Linings Playbook - 2012), and one for best supporting actor (American Hustle - 2013). But, considering that the final goal for the movie production … [Read more...]
