On March 20, the current year, Hollywood Reporter announced that publisher Spiegel & Grau (of Random House) released to the press that "Musical legend Prince will publish his memoir in fall 2017". The title "The Beautiful Ones" "will take readers on an unconventional and poetic journey through his life and creative work -- from the family that shaped him and the people, places, and ideas that fired his creative imagination, to the stories behind the music that changed the world." - same source … [Read more...]

Some Thoughts on the 2016 Oscars Nominees
I should put this post in "Movies" category, but it's just a short essay about what I have in mind regarding to this year's 2016 Oscars nominees. I haven't watched all the movies, there are 27 all in all, considering even a less important award for the viewers (like Best Music - Original Song, where Fifty Shades of Grey is nominated for example), and there is a great possibility to not be able to, or in some cases (like two years ago, with Twelve Years a Slave), to not want to. I have finally … [Read more...]
David Bowie Died at 69
I had prepared another post for today, but I read these sad news just before I wanted to hit the publish button. David Bowie died last night surrounded by family, after one and a half year struggle with liver cancer. Born David Robert Jones in London, England, David Bowie had dominated the world music scene for over four decades. He first found success with “Space Oddity” in July 1969 and went on to become one of the biggest stars of the glam rock era partially thanks to his flamboyant, … [Read more...]
Debian Linux Creator Dead!
Unfortunately, a few days ago, Ian Murdock, founder of the Debian GNU/Linux distribution project, has died at the age of forty-two. I have waited for news, but it doesn't matter anymore since he's dead already. Murdock was born in Germany on 28 April 1973. He wrote the Debian Manifesto when he was studying at Purdue University, where he earned his bachelor's degree in computer science in 1996. He named Debian after his then-girlfriend Debra Lynn, and himself (Deb and Ian). They married and … [Read more...]
Star Wars Force Awakens Broke the Records
Star Wars: The Force Awakens hits a box-office record of $57 million after just one day in USA, yesterday night. Internationally, it earned over $72 million in two days, thus making a total of around $130 millions in two days, globally. The record was detained by the last Harry Potter movie, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Part 2 which earned $43.5 million in the first day in USA. This happened in July 2011. [source] Other two box-office successes were The Dark Night Rises (with … [Read more...]
Wow, Mr. Putin!
Very bad things happens in the world, some are simply mistakes, others are carefully planned events. I would have included this post in my underground category, "The Shadows", but it is of great actuality. I wonder how international media is following a "trend" like sheep, without digging a little more for facts. I'm a little bit disappointed by Russia's reaction to the jet fighter incident last week. It wasn't kosher at all, from both parts, one being Russia and the other one, Turkey, of … [Read more...]
