Yes, there is no mistake in the title. Taika Waititi's Jojo Rabbit was very close to being this year's Best Picture. Its main challenger was even more unbelievable because it was the Korean Parasite, the actual winner. Which one was the third, can you guess? It was Tarantino's Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood. Sparkles, light, drama, glamour, comedy, not particularly in this order, like these three movies. There is not an established order for the top three. This is what the insiders said. Jojo … [Read more...]
The Jungle Book – Now on Steroids

Chef, a 2014 Delicious Movie
I love cooking, I love good food, I love good eating. Even if I consider that I can eat almost anything, I hugely appreciate something really well prepared. Like Anthony Bourdain, of whom I'm a very big fan, I appreciate more the craftsmanship of cooking, than the artistry. The movie Chef, created by Jon Favreau in 2013, and timidly released in 2014, is not a comedy in the classic sense, but it … [Read more...]
Almost Trash
I've seen in less than a week, three bad movies, and I started to see but never letting the player more than half an hour (lot of time actually, half an hour is too valuable), another two or three movies. This is personal, of course, but anyway, I think that if I don't consider Police Academy series mentionable in my Best 20 Comedy list, I'm not quite deranged, am I? I just wanted to let you know, maybe you can give a better use to your time, and it's not my intent at all to provoke you to … [Read more...]

The best she ever directed. The music choice is also extremely inspired, with the costumes by Milena Canonero who won herself an Academy Award for them. Kirsten Dunst (the Interview With the Vampire revelation, movie based on Ann Rice's … [Read more...]
Comedy – She’s Out of My League
By saying comedy , I think to the film genre, not other form of the arts palette, and with She's Out of My League I'm starting this genre posts on my blog. In a positive note I can say that it’s a hard time to find a good comedy these days, but if you’re not giving up so quick, you’ll be successful enough for the effort made to be deserved. Big fan of movies anyway, I happened to stumble upon some good stuff. I was more attracted by the “serious” type, politicos, gross substance kinda Syriana or … [Read more...]
