With all the incredible sympathy feeling The Social Network movie awoke in me, I still don't have a Facebook account. But I want to make a correction. Of course not all the movies nominated for Oscars deserve the nomination. They cheapened this fact widening the number, for the second year in a row. By "they", I mean "the Academy". So the winner will be greater. With the SAG Award now as another push in the morale, the production team for The King's Speech feels closer to the award than ever. … [Read more...]

Marketing?
These days I was twitting about Brogan, seeing he writes for Entrepreneur’s Magazine as well. I recently started to follow him on Twitter, I really don’t know why, I’m reading his blog anyway. A pity he is the one in the “one in three Americans are overweight”. Checking a year ago, I was impressed of how he isn’t giving any valuable information away, but now, he’s giving free e-books, other people’s free e-books, absolutely free indeed, not like the sharky marketers who doesn’t have any … [Read more...]
Bono and Discovery Channel Advertising
I’ve just found out (again), that Bono helped the Third World’s external debt to be paid. Where? On Discovery Channel, in a car advertising show. His car, was considered “cool” I don’t remember the brand. The guys who made it, present every week a new car, or type of engine, they’re wrecking or testing, or whatever. What I’ve noticed is that they are as subjective as I am (you'll see why), with the difference they’re paid to say a Citroen is better than a Honda, even when they have identical … [Read more...]
Smooth Sunday Afternoon
I was undecided between reading Nassim Nicholas Taleb's "Black Swan", playing some videogames and watching "The Manchurian Candidate", the 2004 version. I choose all three, and I'm writing all this after watching the movie. Of course, alternately I stopped the movie, reading from the book, which is fascinating - I want to finish it today as well - and playing some card decks, or some levels at various arkanoid type games. It offers the brain exactly what it needs, concentration, smoothness and … [Read more...]
Before you die…
I have promised a few weeks ago on Twitter, that I shall write something inspired by an article I saw, something like “x things to do before you die”. At a first view, looks fine, there is a great range of stuff to choose, not things to do, they are even in greater number, but “posts”, usually in blogs, some “wiser” than others, ass-wiser, as a matter of fact. The number of things to do, varies from 10, 20, 50, to a hundred, a hundred and one or two hundred, with a competition in imagination … [Read more...]
My Social Media Experience
I should have named this, “Once Uppon A Time, myspace”, based on my personal trifling through world wide web, because, with all the yahoo’s or Microsoft’s attempts to socialize their networks, myspace was my first “love” in social interacting. Myspace had and has a very special place in my heart, with his once dynamic HTML based profile customization, with the kind of friendly interaction between humans. That is, the actors, producers, musicians, politicians and the rest, were primarily … [Read more...]
