Tony Scott, the director of Top Gun, died Sunday at age 68, his publicist has confirmed to Entertainment Weekly, a site I used to be subscribed to. According to the Los Angeles Police Department’s harbor division, the British-born filmmaker jumped to his death from the Vincent Thomas bridge near Long Beach, California. According to officials, the Scott climbed a fence on the south side of the bridge and leapt off around 12:30 p.m. Police reportedly found a suicide note inside his black … [Read more...]

The Facebook Bubble
Very interesting what I read these last two days about Facebook' stock market adventures. The Business Insider's Henry Blodget, explains them very worldly. Facebook, which became "public" a few months ago with an Initial Public Offer of $38 per share (fantastically over-evaluated in my opinion and not only mine), dropped it's stock market values at $19, which is quite half. This seems to be a maneuver of the investment bankers who handle the shares' trading. They were paid over $170 Millions to … [Read more...]

[source] In August 2002, Powell began the Julie/Julia Project, a blog chronicling her … [Read more...]
Natalie Wood’s File Resurrected
Natalie Wood death's file has been re-opened last November, triggered finally by the launch of a book, Goodbye Natalie, Goodbye Splendour, written by no other than the captain of the yacht where the Oscar nominated spent her last minutes. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said it could not be concluded definitively the true nature of the death. The death certificate has been formally changed from "accidental" to "undetermined". Press of the time said Wood took the yacht's dinghy and … [Read more...]
Nazi Badge as Logo
Look what I found today, a Nazi Badge Logo as inspiration, and you remember I have written about the movie and it was very popular somewhere. Of course, some of the commentators claimed that my post was kind of lame, and Vigilant Citizen writes actually much better, on the various underground subjects. It was never my desire to compete with Vigilant Citizen on the matter, actually even if we have some passion in common, the views may differ profoundly. Oh, and I like their "pics of the month", … [Read more...]
Comedies: A List!
This is just a short announcement about some future posts on this blog, specialized mostly on movies, but with a great success in other areas as well. It seemed to be neglected. I hope you don't blame me too much, it was just conjectural. Actually, I'm having difficulties establishing a good list of comedy movies. I just keep thinking that I haven't seen all the movies (as I wish) in the world, and I may be misleading you in the task. I don't know, really, I still have a good opinion on my … [Read more...]
