Poor Mel Gibson! They say he's an alcoholic, they say he's violent, they say he's a lot of things that don't define him. He's talented, he used to be very good looking, he had a vision. He is a good actor, strangely. He has funny names. Born in the state of New York in 1956, from an Irish mother (née Reilly), and an Australian of an Irish descent, he was baptized Mel Colm-Cille Gerard Gibson. "Mel" and "Colm-Cille" are Irish saints names. He has another ten brothers, and when he was twelve, his … [Read more...]

Good Bye, JR
TV icon Larry Hagman, best known for playing the iconic J.R. Ewing on both the original Dallas on CBS and the current incarnation on TNT, passed away on Friday, November 23'rd at Medical City Dallas hospital from cancer complications. He was 81. Larry Hagman — shortly after TNT’s update was announced in summer 2011 — revealed that he was being treated for “a very common and treatable form of cancer,” later specified as Stage II throat cancer. Looking for Richard
This is a documentary directed by Al Pacino in 1996, having a very catchy tagline: "A four hundred year old work-in-progress." The main benefit is that it shows how interesting Shakespeare can be, it's a try to spread Shakespeare through the masses with the great movie actor star, Al Pacino. A good version of villain Richard, nice choice for the rest of the characters, exceptionally created. They even went all the way to England, to show us William Shakespeare's bed and to let Frederic Kimball's … [Read more...]
A Few Updates, and Goodreads
Long time now, I wanted to try Triberr, a strong community of tweeps who twit more or less automatically when some member posted anything. RT's most, or announcements, but mostly links, which the mighty Twitter family barely follows anymore. What happens when someone posted a ton of links on your stream and you don't seem to be interested? It stinks of spam, that's happens. Tools like TwitCleaner and such, consider Triberr "a spaming application". The same is TwitterFeed and Facebook. I speak of … [Read more...]
Wet Shaving Update
As an update to my post The Art of Wet Shaving, I wanted to show you a video on double edged shaving blades making. This following one was filmed at Croma factory in Germany. As I said in the mentioned post, the form of the blade as we know now, came in 1904. Gillette's 1904 patents gave it the power to block entry into the installed base of handles that it would create. While other firms could and did enter the replaceable-blade market with their own handles and blades, no one could … [Read more...]
Borat
Borat is one of the most hilarious films I've ever seen, and it's on my favorites list. I'm not sure if this movie made Sacha Baron Cohen one of the most popular actors through the American public. It is a metaphor, it is ironic, it is brilliant. The mockumentary concept is not new, but was triple refined in this case. Borat is one of the best comedies ever made, it made my Best 20, and not only. I'm afraid, it wasn't wholly appreciated in USA and in Romania. You see, the Romanians are very … [Read more...]
