Breaking Rules

June 5, 2011 By Daniel Mihai Popescu 6 Comments

Seth Godin

I have just found out that I broke the number one rule of professional blogging: "Don't name your blog with a personal name unless you're famous"! I really didn't know that when I started blogging, :). Thing is, I never thought to sell crap on this blog. Adsense on this site is recently functional again, this very blog isn't yet three months old, so even if there are some older posts transferred here from the previous free hosted which had other names all together, this is the one who counts, … [Read more...]

Video Code and YouTube

May 25, 2011 By Daniel Mihai Popescu 2 Comments

No matter how happy I was for adding Disqus to power my comments, something very useful with all it's items and pingback and tracking, also handy when you comment on a blog who uses it as well, along with this cute socializing thumb symbols on the left of the screen, I have had real problems with youtube embed video code. As I said in a previous post, I had to toggle between "visual" and "HTML" when editing, and guess what happened every time I left "HTML"? The video code evaporated. I realy … [Read more...]

To Start a Blog

May 22, 2011 By Daniel Mihai Popescu 1 Comment

Emperor Penguins in Weddell Sea, Antarctica

To start a blog you need to talk well. To start a blog you have to have imagination. To start a blog you need confidence. All other things you think you need, may come after these three, because these three are the most important, no matter what you read elsewhere. From all these three, the last one is the more important. So, let's talk about confidence. Why you need it? For me is obvious, don't know if for you it works the same. Using a site called "blog" is like using a notepad, only it's … [Read more...]

Internationally Writing

May 5, 2011 By Daniel Mihai Popescu 4 Comments

Start Menu in XP

I am not a native English person, and this blog isn't a pure breed English blog as well. English is simple because it is a language without diacritics. This is a great advantage for foreigners, they write faster in English because of the standard keyboards. They write faster in English and maybe faster (without the eventual diacritics) in their own language, because of the same standard keyboard. Of course, for some foreigners the real difficulty may appear with speaking, because of the … [Read more...]

Changing the category

April 5, 2011 By Daniel Mihai Popescu Leave a Comment

An old category had to go, a newer and more complex one was born today. The previous posts in this branch, can be considered a stretching before the serious things I am going to share with you with the time coming, something that can offer the reason to publish anything on the internet. The origins are not obscure, but it is obvious that when this phenomenon started, one had to write in HTML, the short form for Hyper Text Mark-up Language, which by the way, as stated on the footer tag of … [Read more...]

Changes

February 23, 2011 By Daniel Mihai Popescu Leave a Comment

I was very busy these days, and now again, to re-arrange the wordpress.com Imaginarium, here. I'm doing the same with the Romanian blog, which is actually the beginning of Rodolfo Grimaldi as an established non profit blogger. Now, having the independent domain, I shall experiment a little bit with the material side of PRO-blogging, and I'll share my experience with you, as well. What is here today, must be considered still in the working draft, not long, I assure you. Little  re-editing and … [Read more...]
