I wrote about Instagram in a previous Social Media post and not in the most favorable terms. It is now the moment to share with you some of my experience there. A few months ago I had the urge to make a guide about how to succeed on Instagram, based on my own experience and on what I read from marketing specialists. Fortunately, I had the opportunity to read some advice sold pretty expensively online, here and there, with prices starting from €200 up. If I'll find the time, I shall finish the … [Read more...]
Poor Pompous Critic, Don’t Spoil My Pleasure!
I have never liked a movie review, or, by the way, any review which uncovers the plot in the first sentences. Actually, I quite hate these sort of reviews. I like to be surprised by a film, or book, or whatever masterpiece which was made exactly for that, it was conceived to throw me and you out of our-self with laugh, grief, or gore, one never knows. Then some pretentious "famous" critic spoils it for me, because he's "smart" and doesn't stomach the author, or the star in the movie he … [Read more...]
Some Thoughts on the 2016 Oscars Nominees
I should put this post in "Movies" category, but it's just a short essay about what I have in mind regarding to this year's 2016 Oscars nominees. I haven't watched all the movies, there are 27 all in all, considering even a less important award for the viewers (like Best Music - Original Song, where Fifty Shades of Grey is nominated for example), and there is a great possibility to not be able to, or in some cases (like two years ago, with Twelve Years a Slave), to not want to. I have finally … [Read more...]
My Grasp on the Oscars 2015
I haven't got the time to watch Selma and Wild, and I'm not going to comment on them yet. Maybe I'll do it another day, long after the Oscars 2015. Not a big deal, I suppose. None of them are big favorites for the Best Picture, and Selma, for sample, doesn't have a nomination on other important categories either. Too bad for them. [source: imdb.com] All in all, it wasn't a spectacular year for Oscars. There is one exception though, The Grand Budapest Hotel, my only full 10 on the whole … [Read more...]
Careful When You Publish “News”
Not once I've seen "respectable" news blogs or media online publications wannabe, just filling the space in order to keep daily posting alive. If you leave the announcement short, without too many insider details, avoiding to be too specific on what you already snatched from another respectable media publication, you avoid also the ridicule. The problem appears when you try to correct the author with a polite comment, and tell him where the fault is. He can check, modify, and thank you after … [Read more...]
Is Google Plus Heading to the Grave? Really?
Wow, what news around the "authority" sites lately! Vic Gundotra announced he will leave Google, so the speculators started to speculate, and they haven't stopped to do just that, the dogs jumped at Google's neck, from Times, to Business Insider and Search Engine Watch, but the most vicious was TechCrunch, who came up with titles like "Google Plus Is Walking Dead". The venom came actually from Alexia Tsotsis, co-Editor at TechCrunch. She "breaks news, hearts". [source] I liked that … [Read more...]
